HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Stepping into 2017 like... 
Happy New Year!

It has been about a year since my last visit. 

So, where exactly have I been?

Collectively, as a nation, 2016 was an eventful year. For me, 2016 was the year of sitting *just* outside my comfort zone. My life had so many plot twists in 2015, it me took all of 2016 to re-calibrate. If for nothing else, these were the times that made my life a much more interesting story.

2016 turned out to be the year of soul-searching, researching and observation. I inadvertently was committed to being a sponge in 2016 to truly assess the climate that I am living in.

Focusing solely on vocation, the biggest change was that I shifted gears in my career. I went from being in Production Management at a small independent firm to becoming a Coordinator in Product Development at a multi-national lifestyle Brand (notice the capital ‘B’). Being here has introduced me to a new world of design, merchandising and supply chain. I am surrounded by some of the best and brightest every workday and the experience has been inspiring and motivating.

With that said, this experience has also propelled me into my ultimate path. 

After all I’ve gathered and learned in 2016 (and before), I’ve decided to put my own hat in the fashion ring. I want to take my fluid vision, and shape it into something wearable. I have considered the negatives, my weaknesses, my strengths and advantages and have decided this business is the business that I want to get into.

I am optimistic about 2017. In 2017, I get to lead with both my head and heart and work with my hands.  What a luxury.
